Jack R. Kawleski

April 10, 1946 — March 7, 2023

Junction City

A "Farewell Party" for Jack is planned, at the farm, 2444 River Road, Junction City, WI, by the lake, Saturday, June 17, 2023 from 1:00PM until 6:00PM

Jack was a happy-go-lucky man with a true sense of humor. He was an accomplished joke teller with an uncontrollable quick wit, that at times was unintentionally offensive with his one-liners.

With the Viet Nam war raging when he was eighteen, he enlisted in the army but failed the physical because of his hearing; this disappointed him even into his senior years.

Probably due to hearing issues, he had a big voice which he did share with others. He and his brothers were known for their rendition of "How Great Thou Art" at various functions. Notably a Grezenski/Gryzinski Family Reunion that he and his wife organized in the early 2000's.

In 2015 Jack joined his wife, Marlyce, in a classic country/gospel band that performed at various assisted living facilities in Portage and Wood counties. Just hours before he passed, he sang a duet with Marlyce of "I'll Fly Away" which was the band's closing song.

Owning the family farm in the Town of Eau Pleine was of great satisfaction and tremendous joy to him. He was proud that it had continuously been owned by succeeding Kawleski family generations for over 125 years. He loved the Town of Eau Pleine and served a term as Town Board Chairman.

Truly a "Jack of All Trades", he was devoted to breaking down and recycling all kinds of failed items. His little way of saving our planet. He loved farming, held various jobs as outside salesman, bartender and bar stool warmer. Sadly, he suffered a debilitating back injury twenty-five years ago after which he suffered constant pain. In December he was diagnosed with an aggressive, uncurable lung cancer to which he succumbed.

Per Jack's wishes, there will not be any formal wake or funeral service. In true Jack style, there will be a "Farewell Party" at the farm, by the lake this June 17, 2023 from 1:00PM until 6:00PM, 2444 River Road, Junction City, WI.

He was very spiritual and looked forward to being with Our Savior and reunited with his son, Lil Jack. He wanted that happiness celebrated. He didn't expect to be greeted in Heaven with "you look good," which he said people at wakes, when in his style of humor, they actually meant, "glad this one's gone!".
