James Hampton, age 74 of Plover, WI formerly of Rubicon, WI went to his heavenly home on July 13, 2023.
Mass of Christian Burial for Jim will be held on Thursday July 20, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bronislava Catholic Church 3200 Plover Road Plover. Very Rev. Ed Shuttleworth will officiate. Visitation on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at the church. A meal will be provided at the church. There will be no graveside service.
Born on January 7, 1949, in Milwaukee, WI to Monroe and Iris Hampton, Jim later moved with his family to a small farm in Rubicon, WI in 1960. He attended Hartford Union High School where he graduated in 1966. He joined the U.S. Air Force that same year and was honorably discharged in 1970.
He was employed as a welder at International Stamping Co. in Hartford until 1974. He then joined his father as a sales representative in their Winnebago RV dealership until 1980.
Jim next went on to work as a volunteer in various agencies in the Stevens Point Area, including 27 years at St. Michael's Hospital. This is what he truly enjoyed in life, leaving him with many fond memories and wonderful relationships built over the years.
Jim's family wishes to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude to the ICU staff at St. Michael's for their compassionate care.
Jim is survived by his wife Bonnie, son Kevin of Fond du Lac, daughter Kelly of Mercer, and son Kory of Lake Mills. Also surviving are stepson Eric (wife Cindy), brother Brian (wife Janice), 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Iris and Monroe, sister Sandra Sterman, parents-in-law Bill and Ruth Richardson, and brother-in-law Bob O'Brien.
