James F. "Jim" Mancheski, 85, passed away February 8, 2021 due to medical complications after an unexpected fall at home.
Jim was born June 23, 1935, son of the late Paul & Evelyn (Drapes) Mancheski in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. He graduated from PJ Jacobs High School in 1953.
He entered the US Army on April 8, 1958 in Stevens Point and was honorably discharged April 7, 1960 in Fort Myer, VA.
On October 21, 1961 Jim was united in marriage to Joan Trzinski. They were married 30 years. Joan preceded him in death April 11, 1991. On September 29, 1998 he was united in marriage to Helen Webb Hacker. They were married 4 years. Helen passed away April 3, 2002. Both marriages took place at St. Peters Catholic Church in Stevens Point, Wisconsin.
Jim was employed with the Soo Line Railroad as a Car Inspector for 32 years. Following retiring from the railroad he owned and operated Automatic Coin Machine Vending Services until 1995.
During his retirement years he enjoyed flower gardening, bird watching and canning fruits and jellies. His greatest accomplishment was the restoration of his 1925 Chevrolet 2 door sedan.
Jim is survived by 4 Daughters, Julie of Stevens Point, Jacqueline (Robert) Demski of Amherst, Jane (Michael) Wiesner of Almond, and Joynell (James) Dombrowski of Amherst Jct.
3 Sons, Jeffrey (Julie) of Junction City, Jonathan (Brenda) of Appleton, and James J. of Marshfield.
He is also survived by 13 Grandchildren, Lucas, Lindsay, Nathan, Victoria, Matthew, Jeffrey, Jessica, Jenna, Alli, Cassie, Timothy, Daniel, and Joseph.
7 Great Grandchildren, Vanessa, Madelin, Harper, Kaedyn, Kylah, Jackson and Emma.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother William and sister Bonnie Shibilski.
Jim will be forever grateful to the Medical Professionals and staff for his "Modern Day Medical Miracles." The family would like to thank the staff at Aspirus Hospice House of Wausau for the great care provided to their Father.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 12, 2021 at St. Peter Catholic Church. Rev. Arul Joseph Visuvasam officiating. Burial will follow in the Guardian Angel Cemetery. Family and friends may visit from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday February 11, 2021 at the Pisarski Funeral Home at 703 Second St. in Stevens Point and from 9:00 until 10:15 a.m. Friday morning at the Pisarski Funeral Home, Masks will be required at the Funeral Home and Church.
