James D. Prutz, age 65, passed away unexpectedly in Whitwell, Tennessee on December 5, 2021. He was born on January 18, 1956 to Ben and Vera (Newman) Prutz.
He is survived by sisters; Barbara (Stephen) Kaainoa, Kathryne Glodowski, Linda Prutz and brothers; Bernie (Maria) Prutz and Thomas Prutz. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Ben, mother Vera, brother David Prutz and brother-in-law Albert Glodowski.
Jim grew up in the Town of Plover until their house burned down in 1966, they relocated to Stevens Point. He attended Saint Joe's parochial school and SPASH.
Jim worked at Okray Produce and B-Bar 10.
He married Kathy Peterson and they moved to Maryland where he worked on a horse farm. They divorced, and he then moved to Tennessee where he got a job with Speegle Construction, at Speegle he helped refurbish the pier in Diego Garcia for two years, He also worked in Key West, and at Patrick AFB in Alabama. He then was moved to Ascension Island for several years. He returned to Whitwell, TN, became a handyman and worked as a painter for AES Contractors. He was a man of all trades. Due to failing health he started lawn cutting.
Jim had a big heart and got along with all. In his younger years Jim enjoyed playing hockey at the outdoor rink in Goerke Park where he made many friends and memories. Jim had a passionate love for Harley's, he loved riding through the Appalachian Mountains in Tennessee for a road trip.
A celebration of his life will be held in Whitwell, Tennessee for friends in two weeks. And a celebration of life will be held in Stevens Point, WI at a later date.
