Jane Janie Jasia Miller
April 10, 1952 - October 28, 2024
Janie, 72, of Peru, Wisconsin, went to meet the face of God on Monday, October 28, 2024. She was born in Stevens Point on April 10, her father's birthday. She was the daughter of Dr. Stanley and Kathryn (Kitowski) Miller.
Preceding her in death were her brother, Dr. Jim Miller, Stevens Point, and her sister, Madeline Davidson of Tacoma, Washington. She is survived by her sister, Kathy (John) Oertel of Stillwater, Minnesota, and her sister-in-law, Bernie Miller of Stevens Point. She also leaves behind ten nieces and nephews.
Janie attended St. Peter Grade School, Maria High School, and Marquette University. She graduated with a Master's Degree in social work and did counseling at both Homme Home and Portage House.
She was involved in many community events, including those promoting a healthier earth through environmental and energy programs. She thrived on Public Radio music and local bands and concerts. She was a dedicated volunteer.
Janie was very proud of her Polish heritage. She proudly displayed the Polish flag in front of her home and carried out many of its traditions through foods, dress, and activities.
Funeral Mass: Friday, November 15, 2024 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. Reverend John Potaczek will officiate. Burial will follow at Guardian Angel Cemetery. Visitation on Friday, 10:00 - 11:00 in the St. Faustina Chapel followed by an 11:00 Mass.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Boot Strap, Stevens Point; St. Peter Church, Stevens Point; or charity of your choice.
