Jeanette B.  Smrz

Of Plover passed away late Sunday evening April 9, 2023 at Aspirus St. Michaels Hospital. Age 87  Jeanette was born August 12, 1935 in Stevens Point. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Frances (Singer) Shopinski.

She attended local grade schools, graduating from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1953.  Her marriage to Eugene "Gene" Smrz took place on October 5, 1957 at St. Stephens Catholic church in Stevens Point, settling in Stevens Point and later in Plover.  Her husband Gene preceded her in death on January 16, 2014.

In her free time, she enjoyed football watching the Badger and Packers and Badger basketball, the game show network and her soap operas. She also enjoyed a good card game, but loved spending time with her great grandsons.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial in Jeanette's name will be established at a later date.

Survivors include her two sons; Tom Smrz  and Scott (Lisa) Smrz both of Plover, her grandchildren Thomas (Ashley), Eric, Kyle (special friend Cassandra Raflik), Josh and Taylor and two great grandsons Travis and Ryan. Further survived by two sisters Delores Matke and Betty Scheppa. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gene, three brothers George , David  and Leo and a sister Evelyn Fabisiak.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday April 18,  2023 at the Pisarski Community Funeral Home  with Deacon Ven Linzmeier officiating. Burial will be in the St. Michaels Parish  Cemetery in Junction City at a later date. Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. Tuesday morning at the Pisarski Community Funeral Home- 2911 Plover Road, Plover, until the time for services. The Pisarski Community Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family.
