Jerome "Jerry" Shroda, Stevens Point, passed away at his home surrounded by family on Sunday, April 10, 2022 at the age of 82.  He was born on August 2, 1939, the son of Peter and Mary (Phillips) Shroda.

He grew up in Stevens Point, attended Saint Peter School and PJ Jacobs High School graduating in 1958.

He joined the 32 nd division his senior year in high school and served ten months of active duty in Tacoma, Washington.

He proudly worked at Consolidated Papers in the stock prep department for 43 years.

His marriage to his high school sweetheart, Lori Sobish, took place on July 15, 1961, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia.  They celebrated their 60 th wedding anniversary last year.

The couple built their home in the Town of Hull and started a loving, close family. Jerome was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

He enjoyed gardening and spending time making his yard look beautiful.  His best times were spending cherished moments with his wife, children, grandchildren and dogs, Shelby and Bella.  He loved church picnics and dancing to polka music, watching movies, swimming, biking, bon fires, and eating "Granny Lori's" cooking.

He was proud to participate in the Honor Flight to Washington DC on September 11, 2017 accompanied by his daughter Shelley as his guardian.

Devoted in his faith, he loved to attend Mass until he became homebound and then relied on EWTN to watch Mass and the rosary devotions.

Jerome was a kind, generous, thoughtful and giving man.  He enjoyed socializing and never met a stranger. He had a special love for the Christmas holidays enjoying outdoor lighting, baking Christmas cookies and touring Christmas displays. We will forever miss his humor, playful nature, warm and safe aura that he created for those around him.
