Joann B. Thomas

Joann B. (Beverly) Thomas passed away at the age of 81 late Thursday evening, August 5, 2021 at Ministry Medical Center of Weston with her loving family at her side.

Joann was born January 8, 1940 in Downers Grove, IL. She was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Loretta (Krieg) Anderson. Her marriage to Norman A. Thomas took place on May 29, 1959 in Wheaton, IL and ended after 45 years when he preceded her in death on January 9, 2004. Joann worked for many years in the food service department at The College of DuPage until her retirement in 2002. She later resided in Elkhorn, WI and most recently in Waupaca, WI with her daughter Teresa Drogemuller and family.

It only took one time of meeting Joann to see her fun-loving spirit and want to call her your friend. She loved life and lived hers to the fullest with her family as her top priority. There wasn't a day that went by where she didn't have her hair done and her makeup on because, "You always have to be ready to go out!" She enjoyed playing Bingo, trying her luck at the Casino, and getting together with friends and family for any reason. Her laughter and joy were contagious. She had a passion for cooking and loved to comfort everyone with a delicious meal. She lived with such love and purpose and left a lasting impression on all she met.

Survivors include her three children: Patricia (James) Tierney of Whitewater WI, Teresa (Kenneth) Drogemuller of Waupaca WI, and Norman (Rebecca) Thomas of Chassell MI. She will also be remembered by her grandchildren: Amber (Thomas) Dickmann, Ashley (Hazel) Drogemuller, Timothy Tierney and Madison Thomas and her great grandchildren: Hannah, Carolyn and June Dickmann. She is further survived by her brother James Anderson and sister Leona Olsen.

Joann was preceded in death by her husband Norman, her brother Charles Anderson.

A Celebration of Life will be held on September 11th from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the American Legion/VFW in Delevan, WI.
