John R. Frederiksen

John R. Frederiksen, 88 of Stevens Point, died Saturday March 9, 2024, surrounded by his loving family at Wellington Place in Whiting. John was under the care of Heartland Hospice.

John was born on October 25, 1935, in Marinette WI. He was the son of the late Martin and Eva (Goffin) Frederiksen.

John served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged November 21, 1957.

His marriage to Barbara Gauthier took place on April 25, 1959, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stevens Point. His wife Barbara preceded him in death on January 11, 2008.

John was employed at Consolidated Papers- Biron division for over 39 years. He enjoyed curling and spending time at the lake cabin.

Survivors include his children, Catherine (Steven) Pollnow of Lincoln Nebraska, Michael (Anne) Frederiksen, Barbara Zmuda (Julie), Michelle (Doug) Pacyna, Stephen (Laura) Frederiksen all of Stevens Point.

Grandchildren, Meghan, Lauren, Joe, Eva, Sarah, Caleb and Ava. Several great-Grandchildren

Also survived by a sister, Jeannie Hosten and a brother David Frederiksen.

He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Bonnie Frederiksen, Brother-in-law, Jerry Hosten and a special friend, Katie Kuplic.

A Mass of Christian Burial for John will be held at 11:00a.m. on Thursday March 14, 2024, at St. Stephen Catholic Church 1401 Clark Street Stevens Point. Rev. Jeffrey Hennes will officiate. Burial will follow in the St. Stephen parish cemetery.

Visitation on Thursday from 9:00a.m. until time of service at the church.
