December 18, 1935 — September 24, 2023

Rudolph

John Francis Raikowski of Rudolph, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on September 24th, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.  He had many near death experiences but succumbed to pneumonia.

John was born on December 18th, 1935 in Portage County in the township of Carson.  He was the son of Stanley and Constance (Jarvis) Raikowski.  He attended Lieutenant Mellory School and graduated from P. J. Jacobs School in Stevens Point. He served in the Wisconsin 32nd National Guards Red Arrow Division for nine years.

His Faith, Family and Farm were very important to him.

In 1960, he met Joan Blaskey and they were married on June 24th, 1961. The marriage was performed at St. Mary's Church in Custer, WI.

They bought a farm in Rudolph where they farmed for 62 years, working hard to make Blue Jay's Registered Holstein dairy a success. He was the President of the Portage Holstein Association for many years.

John is survived by his wife Joan of 62 years. Their children: Barbara (Karl) Wogsland of Scandinavia WI, Jim Raikowski (special friend Shelley Kruger) of Rudolph WI and Larry (Sara) Raikowski of Junction City WI. He is further survived by three Granddaughters: Kristine (Jim) Schadeberg of Windsor WI, Lindsey Wogsland (special friend Jon Trzebiatowski) of Stevens Point WI and Emily Wogsland of Stevens Point WI.  He is also survived by a sister Mary Ann (Ernie Sniadajewski), sister-in-law Louise Raikowski, brother- in- law Val Blaskey of Custer, WI and sister- in- law Paulette Blaskey of Stevens Point, WI.

He was preceded in death by his parents Stanley and Constance Raikowski, his brother Dave (Chief) Raikowski and a son Stephen.

Many of John's greatest joys were reading and writing stories. A month before he died, he wrote a book titled Tales of the Bear Creek.  He loved fishing and hunting but he enjoyed raising registered Holstein cattle.  Farming was a way of life which he enjoyed.

John will be missed by all of his family,  friends and neighbors.

He would like to thank those who were caring and compassionate during the seven months he needed them. The family thanks all those at Aspirus I.C.U. The Portage Health Care Center and Aspirus fifth floor caregivers.

Now he is at peace with God and the angels. Enjoying freedom taken from him those last few months.
