Joseph L. Mancheski, beloved brother, husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at home Monday, December 30, 2024, with his wife by his side after a prolonged illness. He was born on April 17, 1960, in Stevens Point, son of the late Robert and Alice (Dolly) Mancheski.
Joseph grew up in Stevens Point attending St. Peter Grade School before continuing at Pacelli High School and SPASH (Stevens Point Area Senior High). Following his schooling Joseph proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps. He was a dedicated sheet metal fabricator before retiring.
This summer friends and family joined Joe and Joan in a marriage ceremony at the family cottage where Joe enjoyed fishing, boating and cruising the backroads in his vintage corvette and the plymouth Roadrunner, "Joe's dream car".
Joe took pleasure in his flower gardens, spoiling his beloved dogs Shelby and Snickers, making home improvements, attending auctions and flea markets along with watching his favorite teams including the Packers, Badgers and especially hockey, having been a goalie. Joe was a great cook and enjoyed serving his homemade recipes to family and friends. Joe took pleasure in tending to his gardens and always spoiled his beloved dogs Shelby and Snickers.
He had a special sense of humor enjoying time with his wide circle of friends, whether it be making his famous homemade spaghetti or secret ham recipe. Joe was always ready to help his family with good ideas or hands-on support. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Proceeded in death by his parents Bob and Alice (North Side Bar), brother Robert Jr. and sister Gloria.
Joe is survived by his wife and best friend Joan (Rutta) Mancheski, daughter Zara, son Jacek, granddaughter Aryia, sisters Deb (Kenny) Kuzynski, Christine Mancheski and Heidi Mancheski along with brothers Karl and Mike (Colleen) Mancheski.
His family would like to thank Laura and Julie, Joe's St. Croix hospice care workers for the outstanding care they gave to Joe.
A Celebration of Life for Joseph will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday January 8, 2025 at Pisarski Funeral Home of Stevens Point-703 Second Street, Stevens Point. Deacon Jim Trzinski will be officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 am until the time of services. Burial with full military honors will follow at Guardian Angel Cemetery.
