Funeral Service will be held at 10:30AM, Saturday, August 5, 2023 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 400 Fourth Ave., Stevens Point, WI 54481 with Rev. Todd Mlsna officiating.
Karen Lee Jensen, Age 70 passed away peacefully, July 11, 2023, at Willow Brooke Assisted Living Center in Stevens Point.
Karen was born December 3, 1952, in Oshkosh, WI. She was the daughter of the late Bernard and Cecelia Jensen.
Karen lived in St. Paul, MN, for over 40 years, where she was a Commercial Painter and Wallpaper hanger for Painting by Nakasone. Karen retired in 2019, hoping to spend time making quilts for her family and friends. She enjoyed just hanging out with her many birds and stray cats. As well as remodeling her home and working in her yard.
After suffering a stroke, Karen was moved back to Wisconsin where she could be closer to her family.
Karen is survived by her siblings, Kathie (Ron) Peters of Summerfield FL., Ken Jensen of Oshkosh and Kim (Tim) Spoerl of Mosinee. Her two children; Patrick Burns and Jodi (Matt) Hanson both of Oshkosh.
Further survived by her five grandchildren: Corey (Michaela) Burns, Payton Burns, Nick Burns, Ava Hanson and Rica Hanson all of Oshkosh .
She was preceded in death by her parents and her ex -husband Daniel Burns.
A big thanks to her cousin Sue (Ron) Jansen of Barnes, WI., for all their phone calls with love and support, also to John and Gina Amacher of St. Paul, MN., for their care and friendship which cannot be understated. John and Gina were instrumental in prolonging Karen's life, so that she may reconnect with family in her last remaining years.
Karen's family would also like to give a special thank you to Interim Hospice program for making her last four months better for her, and to the Staff at Willow Brooke Assisted Living for their kindness, and most of all, all the new friends she made that lived at Willow Brooke and the neighbors adjacent to Willow Brooke.
