Kathleen "Kathy" Kowalski
Of Stevens Point passed peacefully late Tuesday evening, August 21, 2024, at Stevens Point Health Services, while under the care of Interim Hospice.
Kathy was born February 6, 1944 in Stevens Point, and was the daughter of the late Felix and Elizabeth (Moscinski) Trzinski. She attended local grade schools, graduating from Maria High School in 1962. On July 2, 1966, she married Arthur Kowalski, who preceded her in death on May 18, 2013. After working full-time and raising a family, she went back to school and earned her Associate Degree in Accounting from Mid-State Technical College in 1990. She enjoyed reminding her children that she received a 4.0 GPA!
Kathy then worked for Associated Bank in the accounting department for several years until her retirement. In her free time Kathy enjoyed Polka dancing, reading, attending all the church picnics in the summer, and doing puzzles. She especially loved attending all her grandchildren's extra activities from sports and other competitions to concerts and theatre productions.
She was very active in the church, running BINGO and other fundraisers, singing in the choir, and helping out wherever she was needed. Kathy was a true matriarch and her direction was always filled with kindness and love.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial in her name will be established at a later date.
Survivors include her children and grandchildren: Laura Kowalski, Brian and Kris Kowalski (Megan and Madison), Christopher and Tonya Kowalski (Peyton, Foster, and Taylen), Donald and Amy Kowalski (Endeavor & Henry Alloway, and Emma), Marcie and Michael Kostuch (Samantha and Lillian), and Kevin Kowalski. Further survived by her siblings; Victoria (Dennis) Zimmerman of Wisconsin Rapids, Loretta Cisewski, Bernie (Irv) Derezinski of Stevens Point, Grace Mary (Bob) Kulas of Amherst, and Allen (Betty) Trzinski of Plover.
Kathy was preceded in death by her husband Arthur, two sisters Joan Mancheski and Clare Herman, one brother Joseph Trzinski and a grandson Andrew Kowalski.
