Kenneth L. Miller

January 23, 1958 — May 5, 2025

Stevens Point

Kenneth Lee Miller of Stevens Point passed away on Monday May 5th, at the age of 67.

Kenneth was born on January 23, 1958 in Stevens Point WI to Norbert and Delores (Slowinski) Miller. Ken attended St. Joseph grade school, and Pacelli High School, graduating in 1976.

Ken started at the Stevens Point Parks department as a teenager and remained with that department until he retired at 55.

Ken held multiple positions from baseball diamond upkeep, to K.B. Willett Ice Arena Zamboni driver, to city parks' maintenance.

However, his most important and beloved position was as "UK" Uncle Ken. He spent many afternoons refereeing volleyball games between his nieces and nephew. He would white line the backyard and officiate, using his makeshift bird house replay monitor if there was a game dispute. Each holiday his gifts were accompanied by handwritten "roses are red" poems. His role in the lives of his nieces and nephew always went above and beyond.

Following retirement from the Parks Dept. Ken devoted his time to helping care for his mom and dad. Every day was focused on helping them enjoy their time on Illinois Ave. Most days included an afternoon or evening ride to the outskirts of Point, and a swing through Ken's two favorite parks, Bukolt and Iverson. Most days also included a leisurely breakfast or lunch out.

Ken is survived by his father Norbert; sister Karen (Jeff) Small; sister Kim (Tom) Bannach; sister Kristie (Todd) Strebig; his nieces Niki-Dee (Thomas) Trumble; Cally (Ryan) Haessly; Alissa (Aaron) Larson; Taylor Gordon; nephew Scott (Veronica) Small; His great nieces and nephews Rian, Cain, and Cole Trumble and Isla and Kaia Larson. Ken is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Ken was preceded in death by his mother Delores; an infant brother Kevin Miller; as well as other cherished family members.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests making a donation to Pacelli Catholic Schools.

The family would like to extend thanks to the Stevens Point EMS, police department, and medical examiner.

In honor of Ken, from his family, a short poem:

Roses are red, violets are blue

UK, we are sure going to miss you
