Kenneth Marvin Zdroik, 91 of Stevens Point, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025 with his lovely wife and family by his side.
Ken was born July 13, 1934 in Stevens Point WI, the son of the late Adam and Theresa (Wanta) Zdroik. He grew up on Wadleigh Street, attended St. Peter's Catholic School and graduated from PJ Jacobs High School in 1953. He is a Knights of Columbus member of St. Peter's Catholic Church.
After high school, Ken served in the United States Coast Guard from 1954 to 1958. During this time, he met Alice Ann Hintz, at a wedding when he was on leave in Stevens Point. They married April 18, 1959 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. They welcomed three children: Michael John, Alan Gerard, and Lynn Marie.
Just a few weeks before their wedding, Ken was hired by Consolidated Papers, Wisconsin River Division. He retired at the age of 60 after 36 years with the company. During that time, he also worked part-time bartending for his uncle at Athletic Bar on Maria Drive. Ken enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers, playing cards, and the occasional trip to a casino. He and Alice traveled to and through 48 of the 50 states on tours with the Jerry Goetsch Polka Band. Most important of all, was his Catholic faith and the love for his family.
Ken is survived by his lovely wife, Alice; his son, Michael (Debra Dachyk), his daughter in law, Ann (Jakusz) Zdroik, and his daughter, Lynn (Thomas) Olson; 6 grandchildren: Katherine (Robert) Breid, Carolyn (Thomas) McGovern, Andrew (Erica) Olson, Elizabeth (Brendon) Kapitz, Ryan and Austin Zdroik; 9 great-grandchildren: Kaylie, Cooper, Jaxson & Olivia Olson; Eleanor and Claire Breid; Kaiden, Everly, & Penelope Kapitz. He is further survived by his sisters: Madeline Klasinski and Mary Boushley; sister-in-law Caroline (Sommers) Zdroik.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Alan; brothers, Emil, Adam, and Leonard Zdroik; brothers-in-law, Frank Boushley and Florian Klasinski; a sister-in-law, Patricia (Meronek) Zdroik; and many other extended family members.
The family would like to extend a very heartfelt thank you and appreciation to the staff members of The Lodge at Whispering Pines Assisted Living and St Croix Hospice. We were blessed to have your care, compassion, and professionalism.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to Saint Peter's Catholic Church in Stevens Point in Ken Zdroik's name.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Ken will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at St. Peter Catholic Church, 800 Fourth Avenue, Stevens Point. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:00 AM until time of service in the St. Faustina room at the church. There will be a Rosary of Remembrance prayed at 9:00 AM prior to the start of the visitation. Burial to follow with full military honors in Guardian Angel Cemetery. Pisarski Funeral Homes are honored to be serving the Zdroik Family.
