Larry R. Grulkowski

Larry R. Grulkowski, age 74, of Stevens Point, died on Thursday, August 14, 2025, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Larry was born on August 30, 1950, the son of the late Leonard and Florence (Pavlichek) Grulkowski.

He attended and graduated from Wittenberg High School in 1968. He married Kathleen Kotlewski on May 20, 1972, at St. Peter's Church in Stevens Point.

They enjoyed camping in the Dells and at DuBay Shore and traveling when they could. Larry loved hockey and spent many years as a youth hockey coach or at the Blue Line club of the Central Wisconsin Flyers. He worked for Central Electric, Cole Electric and then Werner Electric in sales until his retirement. Larry had a passion for music and playing guitar with his brothers and friends. Larry also helped raise four of his nieces and nephews when their father (his brother-in-law, Jim Wiza) passed away unexpectedly in 1982.

He spent time playing Poker with family around holidays and, of course, Point Special Beer (with some V8 juice).

Larry is survived by his wife, Kathleen Grulkowski; their cats, Raven and Sherman, his sister, Jane Mishnick; his brothers, Mark Grulkowski, and Steve (Lisa) Grulkowski. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Dave.

A very special Thank You to the wonderful staff at Whispering Pines for their care of Larry the last three years and to the compassionate folks at St. Croix Hospice for their help with Larry and our family.

Funeral Service for Larry will be held on Tuesday, August 19th, 2025, at Pisarski Funeral Home, 703 Second Street, Stevens Point. Friends and family are welcome to a visitation that will begin at 4:00 PM with a short service at 7:00 PM. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
