Laverne G. Walczak

Laverne Grace Walczak, 91, of Stevens Point died Sunday evening, January 9, 2021 at Ascension St. Michaels Hospital. Laverne was born October 6, 1929, in Knowlton. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Wolosek.

Her marriage to Stanley F. Walczak Jr. took place on October 22, 1950, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Her husband Stanley preceded her in death in 1975.

Laverne worked for St. Michael's Hospital and the Copps Corporation retiring in 1995.

Laverne enjoyed, baking, gardening, reading, spending time with her family, home making, her dogs over the years and time at the cabin.

Survivors include her sister, Lynn Brooks, Wisconsin Rapids. Brothers, Conrad (Mary) Wolosek, Wisconsin Rapids, Ronald (Barbara) Wolosek, Plover and Frank (Colleen) Wolosek, Plover. Sister-in-law, Margaret Wolosek. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

Laverne was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Stanley, brothers, Sylvester and Virgean. Sister-in-law, Mary Lou and brother-in-law, Don Brooks.

The family wishes to thank the personnel at Ascension St. Michael's Hospital and the Portage County Nursing Home for their kindness and care of Laverne during her time with them.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial in Laverne's name will be established at a later date.
