Leona B. Ziolkowski

Leona B. Ziolkowski, Stevens Point, WI passed away peacefully on Friday afternoon at the House of the Dove Assisted Living in Marshfield at the age of 100.

Leona was born September 5, 1923 in Polonia. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Johanna (Yenter) Wroblewski.
Leona attended local schools. Her marriage to Harry A. Ziolkowski took place on October 26, 1946 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia. After their marriage the couple settled in Stevens Point. Her husband Harry preceded her in death on February 15, 2007.
In her free time Leona enjoyed gardening, baking, and spending time with family and friends. She also loved watching game shows and Brewer baseball, doing Sudoku puzzles, playing sheepshead and listening to polka music.

Leona was a longtime member of St. Peter's Catholic Church (77 years), a member of the Rosary Society Rose 26, and a member of the Secular Order of St. Francis. Leona, with assistance from her husband Harry and other parishioners, served St. Peter's church by being in charge of, and doing the food acquisition and cooking for all the funeral lunches served in the church basement for more than 20 years.

Survivors include her children; David (Brenda Sweeney) Ziolkowski of Denver, CO,
Gary (Amy) Ziolkowski of St. Paul, MN, and Allen (Susan) Ziolkowski of Rochester MN, and one daughter Sally (Frank Kishton) Ziolkowski of San Francisco, CA.   Further survived by 15 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial for St. Peter's Church and other ministries, in Leona's name, will be established at a later date.
Leona was preceded in death by her husband Harry of 60 years, a daughter Marlene Wojcik; four brothers, Myron Wroblewski, Anton "Tony" Wroblewski, Hubert  Wroblewski and Henry Wroblewski; and 3 sisters, Dorothy Wroblewski, Irene Glodowski and Ramona Patoka.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M on Friday February 16, 2024 at St. Peter's Catholic Church. Rev. John Potaczek officiating. Burial will follow in the Guardian Angel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M Friday morning at the St. Faustina Room of St. Peters Church until the time for mass. Pisarski Funeral Homes are honored to be serving the family.
