Leonard Kerchefski

Leonard Kerchefski, Age 79 passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2023, at his home. Leonard was born May 17, 1943, to the Late Barney II and Regina Kerchefski in Stevens Point. On May 18, 1963, he was united in marriage to Gloria Kawleski.

She preceded him in death on February 15, 2002.  After a few years living in the Stevens Point area they moved to Peplin (the Mosinee/Kronenwetter area) in 1968 and started a small beef farm. Leonard worked at the Lullabye Shoppe and in Construction before becoming a lifelong welder at Hartwig Drott/ J. I Case, Marmet and then Woods Equipment until his retirement in 2001. In 1979 Leonard started building a custom modified A- Frame home with his family on the beautiful Minette Lake near Lac Du Flambeau, WI.

He loved to hunt and fish and spending his summers up at the A Frame on the lake, and his winters on the farm.

Leonard is survived by his daughter Kristine Kerchefski of Clintonville, WI., his sons Kevin (late Danal) Kerchefski of Superior, WI., Michael (Kathleen) Kerchefski of Wittenberg, WI., David (Karla) Kerchefski of Kronenwetter, WI., and Stephen (Diana) Kerch of Delta, CO.,

Thirteen grandchildren Shawn (Jerica) Kosky, Taylor (special friend Mandy) Kosky, Lennin (special friend Angelica) Kercheski, Kaleb Kercheski, Brandon Kerchefski, Paul (special friend Ashley) Kerchefski, Kyrie (Kris) Spatz, Brooke Moe, Sage (Tyler) Bucholz, Titus (Morganne) Morgan, Eliza (Paul) Karnowski, Jubilee Morgan and Alfredo Marrero, and his 12 great grandchildren, Emmalyn, Raslyne, Emily, Allen, Zander, Arthur, Abigail, Mazie, Mission, Ignatius, Keegan and Zyrena.

Further survived by several brothers in law, sisters in law and many nieces and nephews., and his very special neighbors Dennis Tryba, Amber Schoener and Paul Bartnik who Leonard treated like one of his kids. Leonard was preceded in death by his wife Gloria, his parents Barney II and Regina Kerchefski and all of his siblings Thomas, Felix, Helen, Edward, Apolina, Kathryn, Barney III, daughter in law Danal, several brothers in law and sisters in law and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday March 25, 2023, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 650 Old Abe Road, Lac du Flambeau. Visitation will be on Friday March 24, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Pisarski Funeral Home 703 Second St., Stevens Point, and from 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning at St. Anthony Catholic Church until the time for mass. Burial will follow in the Memorial Cemetery, 2570 Cemetery Road, in Lac du Flambeau.
