Lillian Nachman passed away May 12th at the age of 95 surrounded by family at Stevens Point Health Care Center. She was born in Chicago on October 27,1929 to Harry and Frances (Flatoff) Tokarski. She had many wonderful memories of growing up in Chicago. Her memories of Chicago include trips around the city with her cousins, especially riding the cable cars. She moved to Stevens Point when she was nine years old and had to learn english since all she had spoken in Chicago was Polish. She attended St. Peter's elementary school and graduated from St. Josephs Academy. The family settled on the north side of Stevens Point where she met her future husband, David Nachman. They were married on May 1, 1948 at St. Peter's Church and resided at their home that they built together. They shared a wonderful life until David's passing in 1999. They were blessed with four children.
Lillian worked at Hardware Mutual, IGA grocery store and at the University Food Center and was a representative for the Polish Roman Catholic Insurance Company while raising four children. She was an amazing woman. Her many interests besides loving her family included playing Bingo, going for Sunday rides with Dave, picking mushrooms and going to church picnics. She loved sports and had a tradition of lamb cakes at Easter. She was excellent at crocheting afghans for everyone, sewing, embroidering, making quilts and collecting jewelry. She was very religious and loved and her family. Cookies and coffee were always waiting for her Granddaughter each day while waiting for her Dad to pick her up for many years. She donated to many charities and organizations.
Survivors include sister Geraldine(Terry) Stanislawski, Brother Jerome(Beverly)Tokarski Sister-in-law Rita Kluck, Cassie Nachman, and Brother-in-law Ron (Janet)Nachman, (4) children; Dave (Mae) Nachman of Stevens Point, Dale (Debbie) of Stevens Point, Donald (Marilyn) Nachman of Stevens Point and Wayne of Appleton WI. Her (10) Grandchildren are, Jeremy (Katie) Nachman- Verona, Mollie(Patrick) Ryan -Milwaukee, Alison - Stevens Point, Becki (Nick) Zaglifa-West Virginia, Elissa (Sean) Ruppert - Stevens Point, Heidi (Jason)Kirkman -Chicago, Wendy(Chris) Ness-Medford, Ben Nachman-Appleton, Rachel (Jack) Davies -California, Elizabeth (Alex)Nachman-Madison Her(13) Great Grandchildren are Phineas, Phoebe and Charlie, Lauren, Colin and Kate, Quinn and Elliot, Lucy and Maddy, Xander, Logan and Hudson.
Lillian was preceded in death by her husband David, her parents Harry and Frances Tokarski, Her brother and sister in-law Edmund and Emily Tokarski and her sister Genevieve and Carlo Caldarola and several Brother and Sister-in-Laws.
The family would like to extend a special Thank you to Stevens Point Health Care Center and Hospice, Becky, the Activity Director at the nursing home and the medical and nursing staff for the special care and warmth given to our Mother.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Lillian will be held on Friday May 16, 2025 at 11am at St Peters Catholic Church at 800 4th Ave, Stevens Point, WI. Rev John Potaczek will officiate. Burial will be in the Guardian Cemetery. Visitation will take place in the St. Faustina room starting at 9am until the time of services.
