Lois A. Hamerski

Lois A. (Sissulak) Hamerski 83, beloved wife, mom, grandma and great-grandma, passed away early Saturday morning, June 11, 2022 at Whispering Pines in Plover while under the care of Heartland Hospice.

Lois, born August 29, 1938 in Mauston, Wisconsin, was the daughter of the late John H. and Pearl A. (Wright) Sissulak. She lived in New Lisbon, Wisconsin for most of her childhood and worked as a dental assistant upon graduating from High School. She married the love of her life, Edward P. Hamerski on September 15, 1956 in Stevens Point. Together they raised 4 daughters. Edward preceded Lois in death on November 18, 2020.

She worked part time at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in the bookstore for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed playing cards, bowling, making candy, and sewing (especially Barbie clothes for her daughters). Lois and Ed liked to travel and made many trips to Las Vegas where they loved trying their luck at the casinos. More recently, they enjoyed traveling to the local casinos for the day.

Survivors include her Four daughters, Kathryn (Tim) Harvey of Amherst, Carol (James) Kraemer of Wausau, Jane Meredith of Baraboo WI, and Teresa (Larry) Ott of Wisconsin Rapids, her grandchildren Megan Harvey, Andrew (Hayley) Harvey, Kelly (Todd) Hillhouse, Katelin (Steven) Toll, Kasman Wallace, Kollin Wallace, Zachary Meredith, Brittany Schuh, Gavin (Kristee) Glaman and many great grandchildren.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edward, and one brother John Sissulak.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, June 20, 2022 at 11:30 A.M. at the Pisarski Funeral Home, 703 Second Street, Stevens Point. Deacon Jim Trzinski will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10:30A.M. until time of the service at the Funeral Home. Burial and procession to Guardian Angel Cemetery in Stevens Point.
