Louis Frederick Mjelde, 85, of Plover, WI, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2021, at Whispering Pines - The Lodge in Plover, WI.
He was born on April 22, 1936, in Amherst, WI, son of Ray and Elsie Mjelde. On August 30, 1958, he married the love of his life, Patricia Patoka at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church Fancher, WI.
Lou and Pat moved to Milwaukee after their marriage where he began his career with Falk Corporation and retired after 42 years. Lou also co-owned for a few years the Home Port Bar in West Allis, WI. Everyone always enjoyed his famous fish fries. Louie was an avid baseball/softball player and participated in leagues well into his 70s. Bowling was also one of his sports that he participated into his 80's. But there was nothing more Lou enjoyed than deer hunting with his beloved sons, grandsons, great grandson and his lifelong friends.
After retirement Lou and Pat moved to Plover, WI.
He will forever be remembered for his kind demeanor. Always ready to lend a hand and of course ready to share a beer and some laughs with you.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; son Randy (Kristy) Mjelde of Kimberling, MO, Daniel (Laurie) Mjelde of Stevens Point, WI, Michele (Doug) Droese of Colgate, WI, 7 grandchildren, Stacy Kratz, Janice Byal, Michael (Jayme) Mjelde, Zachary Richardt, Lesley Mjelde, Dylan (Olivia) Mjelde, Stefanie (Ryan) Weyenberg, and 7 great grandchildren, Emma & Maggie Kratz, Kane, Klay and Kamden Mjelde, Kay and Josie Greasby.
Our family sincerely thanks the staff of Whispering Pines - The Lodge and Compassus hospice care for their outstanding loving and compassionate care for Louie (pops).
