Marlene Ann- Marie Stroik

November 14, 1941 — February 5, 2025

Stevens Point

Marlene (Cisewski) Stroik, 83, of Stevens Point, passed away peacefully, Wednesday February 5th, 2025, in her long-time home surrounded by laughter, love and family; the things she cherished above all else.

Marlene was born on November 14, 1941, to Edward and Verona (Zielinski) Cisewski and grew up on a farm in the Township of Linwood. While farm life never grew on her, especially the animals, she carried with her the values of hard work, resilience, and deep-rooted family ties.

On May 5, 1962, Marlene married Robert "Bob" James Stroik at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Stevens Point. For 57 years, they built a life filled with warmth, joy, and the occasional exasperation over Bob's shenanigans. He kept her on her toes, and she kept him in line—when she'd had enough, he knew better than to push his luck. Together, they raised four children. Her greatest joy came in welcoming 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren into her ever-growing heart, where they were endlessly cherished, celebrated and, of course, thoroughly spoiled—whether their parents liked it or not.

Marlene worked as an office manager at Delzell Oil Company before concluding her career at Travel Guard in 2013, retiring to care for Bob. Marlene was active in her community, especially through her support of Franciscan's Downtown and the many fundraisers and organizations Bob roped her into. Never hesitating to put family first, a motto she came to live by, she found her true calling in being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and "grandma-great", roles she embraced wholeheartedly. Her love seamlessly  spread to all those welcomed into her life.

Marlene built a life centered around her loved ones. From memorable Sunday dinners and holiday gatherings overflowing with food to cheering proudly at any of her grandchildren's games, recitals, and events she could attend, Marlene was always there, fully present in every moment possible.

A woman of many talents, Marlene enjoyed embroidery, ceramics, floral arranging, and gardening. Shopping was one of her greatest passions, and she never passed up a chance to find the best deal. Some of her fondest memories were of Black Friday shopping adventures with her daughters—eventful, to say the least. Her love language was gift-giving, and she always had a stockpile of treasures tucked away, ready to bring joy to those around her.

Her legacy is one of fierce love and unshakable strength (and a lovable amount of stubbornness). Marlene overcame countless battles, always fighting to be there for her family.

If there was one thing Marlene Stroik knew how to do, it was love fiercely, shop strategically, and keep everyone in line when necessary. She was small but mighty, a force of nature who never backed down when it came to those she loved. Her legacy will live on through her family—each of them carrying forward her example of unwavering love, devotion, and strength. The memories they share, the lessons she taught, and the actions of kindness and compassion they continue to pass on will ensure that her spirit remains present for generations to come.

Marlene is survived by her four children, Karen (Alan) Schroeder, Rob (Linda) Stroik, Linda (Barry) Goddard, and Randy (Kelly) Stroik; 11 Grandchildren, Evan (Bertha) Keip, Jenna (Kent Sampson) Keip, Cole (Holly) Schroeder, Brooke (Steven) Knoke,  Megan Dodson, Brad (Echko) Stroik, Kailey (Andy) Geniesse, Nate Goddard, Conner (Hannah) Stroik, Noah Stroik, and Olivia Stroik; 11 Great Grandchildren, Brett, Bella, and Xander Keip, Mason and Jacob Schroeder, Collin and Keegan Dodson, Marlee and Brynlee Geniesse, and Aiden and Owen Stroik; sister, Judy Greiner; brother, Kenneth Cisewski; brother-in-Law, Rev. Placid Stroik; and sister-in-laws, Jan Stroik, Theresa Hintz, and Loretta Cisewski.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" Stroik; brothers: Ray Cisewski, Lenoard (Bernedette) Cisewski, and Jerome (Lillian) Cisewski; brother-in-laws, Victor Stroik, Raymond Stroik, and Richard Stroik; sister-in-Laws, Betty(Emil) Gliszynski and Barbara (Hank) Bortz, and many other family and friends

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Interim Health Care Hospice for their compassionate support and care of Marlene.
