Marlyce Mae Kawleski, 78, of Plover, WI, previously Junction City, WI, passed away surrounded by her loving family on May 22nd, 2025 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Born 8/28/1946, to the late Steven and Ethel (Kronstedt) Moscinski at home in Junction City, WI, Marlyce was one of nine children. She attended PJ Jacobs High School and was part of the class of 1964.
As the middle child, Marlyce naturally formed strong and meaningful relationships with her older and younger siblings. She often took on the caretaker role, offering support, guidance, and a listening ear to those around her. Her generous spirit and deep sense of responsibility made her a steady presence in the lives of her family members and friends. Whether it was lending a hand, sharing words of encouragement, or simply showing up when she was needed most, Marlyce was always willing to help. Her kindness, loyalty, and selflessness were constant in her life, and those who knew her were deeply touched by the love and care she so freely gave.
Marlyce had a strong work ethic and a natural aptitude for numbers, which guided much of her professional life. She began her career in the Stevens Point school district, and then as a bookkeeper, where her keen attention to detail and love of numbers quickly became apparent. Her personable nature and quick smile led her to own and operate several taverns, a role she embraced with enthusiasm and warmth and where she built lasting relationships. She transitioned naturally into other customer service fields, including the banking industry, where she found a long and fulfilling career. Marlyce brought integrity, diligence, and compassion to every position she held - from teller to various customer service roles - ultimately culminating in her role as a mortgage officer. In this position, she helped countless individuals and families achieve their dreams of homeownership. At the end of her career, she transitioned naturally to commercial property management. Marlyce's professional life was marked by dedication, adaptability, and a sincere commitment to those she served.
Marlyce married Chester (Chet) F. Tryba on February 8, 1964 and they later divorced; Chet passed away on 2/25/2019.
She married Jack R. Kawleski, Sr. on January 5, 1980; Jack passed away on 3/7/2023.
Marlyce had five children: Steven E. (Linda) Tryba of Junction City, Coreen (Arnold) Diaz of Appleton, WI, Loreen (Ronald) Glaman of Weston, Scott G. (Roxanne) Tryba of Hastings, MN and Amanda (Zachary) Gilmeister of Junction City. She also had one stepson, "Lil" Jack Kawelski, Jr.

She was preceded in death by her stepson, "Lil" Jack, her brothers James Moscinski, Gerald Moscinski, and David Moscinski, and sisters Janet Iwanski and Eleanor Womeldorf.
Marlyce had a deep love for music and a joyful spirit that shone brightly when she was singing or dancing. From a young age, she learned to polka - a skill she proudly carried into her teenage years, lighting up wedding receptions and dance halls with her lively steps. Her passion for dancing continued throughout her life, and she spent several years square dancing, embracing its rhythm and camaraderie with the same enthusiasm. Marlyce's love of music and dance brought joy not only to her but to everyone who was lucky enough to share those moments with her. She had a beautiful voice and never missed a chance to sing, whether it was with family, friends, or just for the joy of it. In 2015 she joined a classic country/gospel band that performed at various assisted living facilities in Portage and Wood counties; she continued to delight audiences, performing and singing until the day she passed.
Marlyce was also a gifted and resourceful creator who found joy in making things beautiful and useful again. She had a talent for sewing and spent hours at her machine crafting everything from doll clothes to home décor with care and creativity. Her eye for potential extended beyond fabric' she loved to refurbish and repurpose items, breathing new life into pieces others might have overlooked. Whether it was through garage sales or auctions, Marlyce delighted in finding treasures and turning them into something special. Her creativity, thriftiness, and love for reinvention reflected her unique spirit and thoughtful nature.
