Mary M Bellinger, 88, of Stevens Point, WI died in her home on February 28,2024. She had been ill since the beginning of the month and was in hospice care at the time of her death.
Mary was born April 20,1935 in Custer, WI to the late Alois and Mary (Gburek) Pezewski
She married William J Bellinger on September 7,1963 at St Peter's Catholic church.
Mary went to grade school in the Custer Area and graduated from PJ Jacobs highschool. As an adult, she attended the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point and graduated with a degree in elementary education.
She has had many types of employment throughout her life, but she was proudest of her work as a teacher and librarian at Sacred Heart School in Polonia and later at the Portage County Library.
Mary loved to spend time with her family and friends. She enjoyed crocheting and had made many baby blankets that were given as gifts or sold at the Holly Shoppe. She also volunteered at the Lincoln Center. She loved to read, do crossword puzzles, puzzles and Sudoku. Mary also loved flowers and enjoyed both her indoor plants and outdoor flower garden. She will also be remembered for her potato salad.
Mary was incredibly proud of her Polish heritage and to be a part of a large family. She had seven sisters and five brothers that she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by eleven of her siblings as well as her husband.
She is survived by one sister, Sophie Kubisiak, one brother-in-law Victor Byczynski, sister-in-law Delores Bellinger, brother-in-law Marvin Bellinger, a son Gregory J Bellinger, one daughter Barbara M (Bellinger) Gollata, son-in-law Paul A Gollata, four grandchildren Seth S Schroeder, Shane M Bellinger, Caitlyn C Gollata, Emily A Gollata and one great grandson Eugene A Gollata
A Mass Of Christian Burial For Mary will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday March 5th, 2024 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church-1401 Clark Street, Stevens Point WI. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of service. Rev Jeffrey Hennes will be officiating. Burial will be held in the parish cemetery.
