Mary A. Drefcinski, age 94, of Stevens Point, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at the Portage County Health Care Center with her loving family by her side. Mary was born on December 1, 1928 and raised on the family farm on Stevens Point's west side. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Angeline Dragula; husband James in 1968; infant son, Daniel; brothers, Joseph and Roman; along with six step- siblings. Mary is survived by her daughters, Mary (Bryan) Jensen, Catherine Drefcinski and Christine (Paul) Firkus; two grandchildren, Amanda (Travis) McAfee and Emily (fiancée Scott Schaefer) Jensen; two great-grandchildren, Mikayla and Rylee; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

Mary attended St. Peter Elementary School and P.J. Jacobs High School. She married James D. Drefcinski on October 13, 1956 at St. Peter Catholic Church. She was a loving, unselfish wife and mother, taking care of Jim during his illness until his death and raising her three children. She gave so much to others without expecting anything in return. She truly lived a Christian life and set a wonderful example for all. Mary was a devoted Catholic, praying the Rosary daily and a lifetime member of St. Peter Church.

Apart from being a homemaker, Mary was employed at Weber Tackle prior to and at the beginning of her marriage and then returned to the workforce as a cleaning lady for Michele's Restaurant and Catering and the Klasinski Clinic from the early 1980's until her retirement.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at St. Peter Catholic Church, 400 Fourth Ave., Stevens Point at 10:30AM on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 with Rev. Todd Mlsna Officiating. Burial will follow at Guardian Angel Cemetery.
