Mary E. "Mary Beth" Rechner
Of Plover, passed away early Monday evening January 8, 2023 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay. Age 82 Mary was born February 26, 1941 in Appleton, WI.
She was the daughter of the late Herb and Irene (Kraus) Roedel. She graduated from St. Mary High School in 1959, then attended Nursing School at St. Mary's School of Nursing graduating in 1962. Her marriage to Joseph Rechner took place on October 5, 1963 in Appleton, but the couple later divorced. Mary worked for St. Mary's Hospital in Milwaukee as a R.N., until 1963 when she then started working for St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton and later for Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire before moving to Stevens Point in 1967.
Mary then worked for Dr. Gehin and Dr. Erickson until 1979. Mary then became the Hospital Employee nurse at St. Michaels Hospital until 1990, and until 1992 was the Occupational Nurse for Ore-Ida. Mary then worked as the Occupational Nurse for James River Corp in Wausau until 2006, and retired as the Lear Corporation Occupational Nurse in Sheboygan until 2009.
In her free time Mary enjoyed international traveling, and also acted in several plays at Pacelli High School and Sentry Theatre. Her most enjoyment was following her grandchildren with their activities of which she was very proud of.
Survivors include her two sons; John (Amy) Rechner of Stevens Point and Tim (Andrea) Rechner of Highland Village, TX. Her six grandchildren; Ingrid Rechner, Greta Rechner, Mackenzie (Andrew) Kyle, Morgan Rechner, Ty Rechner and Molly Rechner. She was further survived by two brothers; David (Judy) Roedel of Wild Rose, and John Roedel of Minneapolis, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Herb Roedel.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial in Mary Beth's name will be established at a later date.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M Monday January 15, 2024 at the Pisarski Funeral Home, 703 Second St. Stevens Point. Deacon Vern Linzmeier officiating. Burial will follow in the Guardian Angel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. Monday at the Pisarski Funeral Home until the time of services.
