Mary Ann Rutta , age 95, of Stevens Point, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2025. She was born on July 16,1929 in Custer, Wisconsin to the late Barney and Regina (Prais) Literski. She grew up on the family farm and attended a one room schoolhouse in Custer. She graduated from P. J. Jacobs in 1945.
She married Richard R. Rutta on October 14, 1950 in Fancher, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on June 9, 2014. Together they raised 4 children.
She was employed as a secretary until her retirement. After retirement she enjoyed volunteering, shopping, working in her flower beds and visiting friends and neighbors. Traveling in the motor home was always an adventure for her. She especially cherished the weekly lunches with her sisters and any time family would come to visit. She took great delight in holding and playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include one daughter, Sue (Don) Baumgartner, three sons, Ron (Nancy), Paul (Rita) and Jim(Lisa). Six grandchildren, Jenna, Chris, Eric, Craig, Andrew and Justin, and one step granddaughter Annie. Eight great grandchildren, Wyatt, Zoe, Harper, Emerson, Luella, Jude, Wren and Neela. One sister, Esther Bigus and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard, sisters, Violet Wroblewski, Bernice Fredock, Geraldine Hintz, Bridget Morton and Margaret Adamczak.
The family would like to thank Mary's caregivers at Whispering Pines and The Lodge for their kindness and compassionate care.
A graveside service will be held in remembrance of Mary at 10:00 AM on Friday, April 25th at Forest Cemetery, 2125 Patch Street Stevens Point. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established by the family at a later date. Pisarski Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Rutta Family.
