Mary D. Wasieleski

Mary D. Wasieleski, age 92, of Stevens Point, passed away peacefully, Monday, April 17, 2023 at Our House Assisted Living Center in Chippewa Falls.

Mary was born May 10, 1930 in Stevens Point. She was a daughter of the late Sebastian "Sam" and Martha (Zywicki) Suchon. She attended local grade schools in Stevens Point.

Her marriage to Leonard Wasieleski took place on October 8, 1949 at St. Peters Catholic Church. After their marriage the couple settled in Plover, later moving to Milwaukee. They returned to Stevens Point in 1960 where they owned and operated Lenny and Mary's Melody Bar for over 16 years before selling the tavern in 1976. Her husband Lenard preceded her in death on May 11, 1992.

In her free time Mary enjoyed going to bingo, church picnics and trying her luck at the casinos.

Mary is survived by her son, son Ron ( and daughter-in-law Yonghong Dong ) Wasieleski of Vancouver, WA.; Grandchildren Ryan Wasieleski and wife Aaren, Tyler Watson and wife Dr. Lindsay Larson Watson, Todd Wasieleski, Tiffany Wilson; Melissa Wasieleski and Scott Wasieleski, her great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Wasieleski and Allison Wasieleski, Alexander and Ellie Watson, Brandon Corbeil, Emerine Wilson, James Wilson, Jayden Wasieleski and Richard Wasieleski; daughter in law Cathy Corbeil, sister, Regina "Jeanne" Suchon of Texas; two sisters-in-law, Edna Suchon of West Bend and Rita Suchon of Wittenberg; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Leonard; a son Richard; a grandson Chad Wasieleski , six brothers, John, Pete, Tony, Leo, Joe and Frank; and two sisters, Vicki Guzman and Helen Wojciechowski.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established at a later date.
