Dr. Mathew J. Chase

Dr. Mathew James Chase, 68 of Plover, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 9th, 2025, in the comfort of his home.

Mat was born on February 11, 1957, in Ogilvie, Minnesota to the late Clarence Chase and Lois Gladwell. He moved to Eau Claire, Wisconsin in his teenage years and graduated from Eau Claire North High School. He went on to play collegiate tennis and graduate with a mathematics degree from the University of Wisconsin – Stout where he met his wife of 38 years, Jean (Jeanne) Lodzinski. Mat then went on to earn his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Parker University in Dallas, TX. He started his chiropractic practice in Texas upon graduation and later established his own chiropractic clinics around Wisconsin in Plainfield, Wild Rose, Princeton, and Plover.

Mat was a man of quick wit with a joke ready to tell. He was a friend to everyone with hands always ready to help others. His greatest joy in life, however, was being a dedicated husband, father, and papa. Mat cherished every moment spent with his family whether he was teaching life lessons, staying actively involved in many family activities and hobbies, and attending his granddaughters' hockey games in his recent years of life. His storytelling, humor, wisdom, and bright personality will be greatly missed by anyone who ever met him.

He is survived by his loving wife Jeanne, daughters; Cara (CJ) Chase and Kelsey (Alex) Puffer, and granddaughter; Hailey. He is also survived by 2 brothers and 2 sisters; Julie (Michele Besant), Daniel, Catherine (Jim Hahn), and Carl (Cathy), 12 nephews and nieces, and many other extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Michael, and his canine best friend, George.

The Chase family would like to thank local police and EMS for their quick response and dedicated efforts. The family would also like to thank Pisarski Funeral Home for their guidance and compassionate care.

Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life for Mat on Sunday, July 20th, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Smiley's Bar & Grill, 4020 County Hwy R in Plover, WI. Light appetizers will be served. In lieu of flowers, donations will be made to a memorial at a future date. Pisarski Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Chase Family.
