Michaelene Cychosz

Michaelene "Mickey" Cychosz, 68 of Junction City, passed away on 4/24/2025, in Robbinsdale Minnesota.

She was born In Junction City on January 16, 1957, to Dale and Elizabeth "Betty" (Panko) Ericson. The family moved between International Falls, MN, Deridder, LA, and Antioch, California. She graduated from International Falls High School in 1975.

She later moved to the Stevens Point area and started her tenured career within the Portage County system at the Portage County Health Care Center and shifted to the Portage County Parks and worked there until her retirement in 2021; a total of 43 years.

She was married to Felix "Phil" Cychosz in 1984 and had one son, Adam. Phil passed away in 2013.

She enjoyed playing bingo, listening to Polka music, attending church picnics, doing arts and crafts, going to rummage sales, spending time with family and friends, among various other activities. She was involved in the sacred worship committee at St. Joseph's church, and helped out within the Stevens Point Area Catholic School System

Mickey is survived by her sons Gentry (Amy) Juneau of Tempe, AZ, Adam Cychosz of Crystal, MN, Mother Betty Ericson of International Falls, MN, Sisters Corinne (Tom) Ward of Junction City, WI, and Laura Manka of International Falls, MN. She is also survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins, great nieces and great nephews, and many other relatives.

The family would like to send their gratitude to the healthcare workers for their dedicated time and care.

She was preceded in death by her Father Dale Ericson, Husband Phil Cychosz, Grandparents Edward and Margaret Panko, Uncle Richard Panko, and many other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established at a later date.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Michaelene will be held at 11:00am on Thursday May 29, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church-1709 Wyatt Ave. Stevens Point.  Visitation will be at the church from 9:00am until the time of services with a rosary being prayed at 10:00am. Father Jeffrey Hennes will be officiating. Burial will be held at 2:00pm in St. Michaels Parish Cemetery Junction City.
