Myron Joseph Brilowski

July 12, 1935 — January 16, 2023

Stevens Point

On January 16, 2023, Myron Joseph Brilowski made his final delivery. We are not sure what God wanted in heaven, it could have been a gallon of Morning Glory milk, perhaps a case of Budweiser or maybe a car part?

Myron, aka Mike, aka the BudMan was born in Stevens Point, Wisconsin on July 12, 1935. He was preceded in death by both parents, his father Joseph and his mother Josephine (Jurgella) Brilowski. Waiting in heaven for Mike were his brothers Robert, Chester and Joe Jr.

Mike's lone sister, Isabel survives along with brothers Donald, Leonard and Norbert.

Mike served in the United States Army from 1958-1960. He received the Good Conduct Medal, Marksman Badge and 1 st Class Gunner Badge. He also was called back for service in 1962.

If you know the Brilowski boys, they worked hard and they played hard. After working on the Brilowski Dairy Farm, Mike moved on to work for Morning Glory Dairy. He shifted from milk to beer where he worked for Baer Beverage until his retirement. Not that Mike ever retired as he then worked for nearly 20 years delivering car parts for first Carquest and then Advanced Auto. Wherever and whatever Mike delivered the one constant was his big smile.

Back to the play part. The Brilowski brothers were known for their excellent play on the baseball and softball fields. Mike won many championships with his brothers and ended a great softball career with Moore Barn.

Mike was also an excellent bowler who came so close many times to that elusive 300 game.

Mike was an avid walker and runner. Even in his early 80's he was running 5K races.

He also loved to play cards with his brothers, tend to his garden, ice fish and hunt small game and he was known for the long hours he would spend in his deer stand in the Brilowski swamp no matter how cold it was and how few deer he saw. The little bottle of Jezynowka may have helped?

Mike was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus No. 1170 and the Elks Lodge No 641.

Mike is survived by his wife Janet of 58 years. They were married on July 4, 1964 at St. Mary's in Fancher. He has four daughters, Kim (Shay) Santos, Verona, WI. Carla (Scott) Glinski, Junction City, WI, Gail Brilowski, Stevens Point, and Julie (Scott) Zimmerman, Stevens Point. He has one son Gary Brilowski (Lara) Appleton, WI. He has one granddaughter Emily (Nick) Katz and four grandsons, Nathan Glinski, Zach Zimmerman, Jacob Zimmerman and Alex Brilowski.

Mike was a huge sports fan and took great joy in watching all the sporting events of his children and grandsons. Mike loved to spend time at the baseball and football fields cheering them on.

Mike loved his Chicago Cubs; it was never easy being a Cubs fan but thankfully they brought him great joy in 2016 with their first World Series Championship. Mike also followed/yelled at the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers. He was never a fan of the NBA because "they never call traveling."

The family would like to thank the staff of Marshfield Clinic, Weston for the great care they showed Mike the past two weeks of his life.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established for Holy Spirit Parish and Mike would encourage any donations to be made to the Pacelli Catholic Schools. Mike and Janet have always been big supporters of the area Catholic schools.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mike will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday January 20, 2023, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church 2151 Stanley Street Stevens Point. Rev Steve Brice will officiate. Visitation on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at the church. Full military honors will follow the funeral mass. Burial will take place in the Guardian Angel Cemetery.
