Norman A. Platta

Norman A. Platta 80, of Custer, died unexpectedly on Sunday October 22, 2023, at Aspirus Stevens Point Hospital. Norman was born on July 29, 1943, to the late Roman and Bertha (Biadasz) Platta. He attended local schools graduating from P.J. Jacobs High School. He married the love of his life Marie Studzinski on October 28, 1967.

Our best friend, our boss, our buddy, he was a great father and  great husband. Norman bought the farm in 1979. He worked hard on the farm with his son Tom, daughter Barb, and his wife Marie. Everything would be talked about at the kitchen table in the morning. He would say let's go and do it right and we would never argue with him. We always got along and had respect for each other.

Norman loved to work and drive his John Deere and M.M. Allis Chambers tractors. He was a great farmer and he loved taking his red truck and checking on all the farm fields to see how they were doing of corn, hay and oat fields . He loved farming and his dairy cows, the cows all had names. He enjoyed field work, chopping hay, bailing hay and planting corn and oats.  Norman and Marie loved to polka dance, waltz and Oberek. He loved all the older Polka bands like Hermie Bella and Norm Dombrowski and The Happy Notes.  He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Parish.

Survivors include his wife Marie, son Tom, and daughter Barb. He is also survived by a brother Daniel Platta.

He was preceded in death by his sister Eileen Bronk and sister-in-law Mary Ann Platta.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Norman will be held at 11:00 a.m.  on Saturday October 28, 2023, at St. Mary's  Immaculate Conception Catholic Church -7176 Esker Road Custer. Rev Mark Miller will officiate. Burial will take place at Sacred Heart Parish cemetery. Visitation on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at the Church.
