Raymond E. Meshak

July 3, 1927 — August 5, 2023

Stevens Point

Raymond Edward Meshak, age 96, of Stevens Point, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 5, 2023 surrounded by his family and assisted by Interim Hospice.

He was born on July 3, 1927 to Agnes (Kontney) and Joseph Meshak in Stevens Point, WI.

He graduated from the 8th grade and went directly to take over the  family farm.

On October 26, 1952, he was married to Mary Ann Kieliszewski.

Raymond served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1952-1954 as a Heavy Machine Operator where he earned his Corporal rank.

Ray and MaryAnn had 5 children; daughters Pam (Jack) Betro, Julie (Larry) Jankowski and Lynn Meshak; sons, Bill (Theresa) and Ken Meshak; 6 grandchildren, Brenda Mass, Becky Dean, Amanda Gallagher, Bill Meshak, Kristine Meshak and John Meshak; 11 great-grandchildren; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

Ray learned the tile-setting business from his mentor, Louis Firkus and it spurred him to start Meshak Tile.  Later he also worked for Wausau Tile and he retired from Resch Tile.  After retirement, Ray and MaryAnn moved to Belleview Florida where they lived for 15 years. In 2006, they returned home to Stevens Point to be closer to family.

Through his life, Ray enjoyed fishing, camping and traveling - especially in the motorhome with friends and family. He loved listening to polkas and country music - Lynn Anderson was his favorite.  He always loved WWE wrestling and was an avid Packers backer! He and his wife both enjoyed spending time in casinos and enjoyed live music at Crystal Springs in their Florida community.  Ray enjoyed music which had him sharing his harmonica playing with anyone that would listen and he learned to play concertina which he really enjoyed.

He is preceded in death by wife MaryAnn; his parents; sisters Angela Wojtalewicz and Victoria Biadasz; and his brother Barney Meshak.

The Family of Ray would like to extend deepest appreciation to Interim Hospice and Riverview Lodge.
