Regina M. "Jeannie" Suchon

April 4, 1942 — May 5, 2024

Mount Enterprise,

Regina "Jeannie" Marie Suchon of Mount Enterprise, Tx., formerly of Stevens Point passed away peacefully Sunday evening May 5, 2024, at Nacogdoches Medical Center while under the care of hospice. Age 82 Jeannie was born April 4, 1942, in the Town of Carson, WI. She was the daughter of the late Sebastian "Sam" and Martha (Zywicki) Suchon. She attended local grade schools, graduating from Maria High school in Stevens Point.

In her early years, Jeannie worked for several local grocery store and retail establishments, The Triangle, Bob's Flower Shop, and Westgate Foods to name a few. She also retired after many years as a Cook for the Portage County Home. She spent all her years in service to others, and even in retirement in Texas, she enjoyed working 4 days per week managing a local Dry Cleaner storefront – Craig's Cleaners.  She loved all her customers and enjoyed the visits from each.

She also worked in service to St. Peters Church in Stevens Point, serving as Religious Education Director for many years helping spread the word of the lord. She worked at the rectory and cooked for the funeral luncheons for the Parish.

She was a member of St Peters Catholic Church Rose Number 22 for many years.

After retirement, she moved to Texas in 2016 to live with her son Robert and his wife Roxanne. While in Texas, she also enjoyed attending Christian services and the teachings of the local Bar None Cowboy Church in Tatum, TX.

Her favorite hobbies were reading and listening to the Milwaukee Brewers radio broadcasts. In her free time, she enjoyed feeding her wild birds, especially the cardinals, watching all the animals on the farm and helping care for a little sweetheart of a dog, named Polka. Polka also gave her peace and comfort up to her final hours. She enjoyed trying her luck at the casino every now and then, but also the gambling apps on her tablet.

She was a servant of God, and her community. She took extraordinary pride in working hard, being dedicated to the care of family and friends, and just being "there" anytime someone needed.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established at a later date.

Survivors include her son Robert (Roxanne) Suchon of Mount Enterprise, TX, and two grandchildren Erik and Harrison, her godchildren Mary Chris, Donna Mae, Dennis and John W. and numerous nieces, and nephews, which all were her favorite.

She was the last of her family of ten siblings. She was preceded in death by her parents Sam and Martha, her sisters Vicki, Mary, and Helen, and her brothers John, Tony, Peter, Joseph, Leo, and Frank.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday May 15, 2024 at St. Peters Catholic church. Rev. John Potaczek officiating. Burial will follow in the Guardian Angel Cemetery.
