Richard "Rick" R. Tielens

May 18, 1951 — October 28, 2021

Stevens Point

Richard "Rick" Roy Tielens, age 70, of Stevens Point, passed away on Thursday, October 28, 2021, at his residence in the Town of Linwood.

Rick was a graduate of UW-Stevens Point where he obtained his bachelor's degree in Geography. After working as a regional manager for a chain of Kerr McGee gas stations, he started a small farm on what became the family's land where many memories were made.  Shortly after, he founded Central Wisconsin Appraisal Service where he would work until the end of his days.
When he was not working, Rick spent his time playing golf, gardening, wine making, cooking soup, and restoring antique tractors. He was a member of the Rudolph Volunteer Fire Department since 1998. He enjoyed any day that ended with a Packers victory. Rick was happiest grilling food for his family on holidays, birthdays, or any other day he could get them together. He believed in doing one good deed a year, but those close to him knew he did many more. He was quick with a joke, gave out many nicknames to those he loved, had a great laugh, and ate onions with any meal.

Rick is survived by; his wife of 38 years, Cynthia Ann Tielens (Panske); children, Jeff (Dana) Tielens of Stevens Point, Tim (Kelly) Tielens of Plover, Christine (Nick) Koeller of Middleton and Jesse Kozelek, Mountain Home, AK.; Grandchildren, Rowan and Juniper (Tim and Kelly) Tielens, Brad and Anna (Nick and Christine) Koeller, Gage Haack and Alex Hutkowski (Jeff and Dana Tielens); Brother, Tom (Sandy) Tielens; sister-in-law Bonnie (Dennis) Rasmussen; brothers-in-law John (Donna) Panske, Tim (Dorie) Panske, Dave (Vicki) Panske, Pat (Noelle) Panske; sister-in-law, Sandy (Bobby) Koskey; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Rick is preceded in death by; his father Roy Tielens; mother Shirley (Laundre) Tielens; step-son Scott Tielens; and step-mother Jane (Corrigan) Tielens.
