Richard J. Rzentkowski

Richard J. Rzentkowski, age 79, of the Town of Stockton, passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2021 following a brief illness, at Aspirus Hospital in Wausau.

Richard was born August 18, 1942 a son of the late Julius and Regina (Ostrowski) Rzentkowski.  He graduated from Amherst High School in June 1960.

After graduation, he worked in Milwaukee for several years before moving back to Amherst to work at Del Monte Corporation.

He married Diana Kirschling on June 8, 1968 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia.  Together they farmed the family homestead from 1968 until his passing.

Richard enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, hunting, fishing, bluegrass festivals, talking to friends and neighbors, "therapy days" with his friend Greg at cattle sales, watching westerns, attending farm auctions and listening to country music.

In addition to his wife of 53 years, Richard is survived by; daughter, Julie and husband Dan Merk and their children Tony, Jackson and Rene; son, Chris and wife Jennifer Rzentkowski and son Michael; sisters Leona Brantmeier, Rita Demski and Germain (Ron) Borski; in-laws Elaine Van Zummeren, Betty Kluck, Donald (Joan) Kirschling, Mary (Fred) Firkus, Deborah (Greg) Van Dreel; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Richard was preceded in death by; his parents; his brothers, Leonard (Kathy), Victor (Lorraine) and Myron (Vera); his sisters, Edwina (Ed) Glisczinski, Bernice (Richard) Gawinski, Wanda (Ray) Disher and Virginia (Tony) Isherwood; and brothers-in-law John Kirschling, Ron Kluck, Russell Brantmeier, Robert Demski and Rich Van Zummeren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, December 17, 2021 at Saint Mary of Mt. Carmel – Fancher, 3995 County Rd K, Amherst, WI with Rev. Jerzy Rybacz officiating.  Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery.  Family and friends are invited to a visitation at the Church Friday from 9:00AM until the time of the Mass.

The family of Richard asks that Masks and social distancing will be requested at the church for the visitation and funeral mass. If you are not comfortable attending, or are in ill health, online condolences may be sent by visiting www.pisarskifuneralhome.com
