Richard B. Wanta

Richard Wanta, 74, of Stevens Point, passed away on Sunday March 23, 2025, at Aspirus Hospital Stevens Point.  He was born on May 2, 1950, in Stevens Point.  Son of the late Ernest and Eleanore (Piotrowski) Wanta-Davis.

Richard attended local schools and graduated from Pacelli High School in 1968.  He worked as a window/cabinet maker at Vetters, he was a painter at Steel King and was a home deliver (milk man) of diary products, being one of the last one's in town.  His last occupation was maintenance for Associated Bank.

His marriage to Pamela (Oligney) took place on June 24, 1989, in Custer, Wi.  He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.  He enjoyed wood working, small game and deer hunting and traveling.

He is survived by his wife Pamela of Stevens Point.  Children, Matthew (Angela) Wanta of Ridgecrest, CA, Jack Wanta of Menasha, Nicklaus (Heather) Wanta of Appleton, Aaron Wanta of Stevens Point and Jessica (Chris) Nowak of Wausau.  Six Grandchildren and three Step-Grandchildren.

Also survived by his brothers, William Wanta, Ernest (Linda) Wanta, John (Robert) Doran, Patrick (Karen) Davis and Donald (Tammy) Davis.  Sister, Jean (Ken) Zarecki.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Ernest Wanta and Eleanore Wanta-Davis, Step-Father Clarence Davis Jr., Brother Clarence (Butch) Davis III, Brother Thomas Wanta and Sister-In-Law Jackie Wanta.

The family would like to thank the following people who helped Richard, the staff at Aspirus Hospital Stevens Point, Ernest Wanta, Dave Kitowski and to Pat and Karen Davis for their time and dedication in caring for Richard over the last 2 years.

Funeral Services for Richard will be held on Tuesday April 1, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Pisarski Funeral Home 703 Second Street Stevens Point. Deacon Bill Holzhaeuser will officiate. Burial will follow in the Guardian Angel Cemetery. Visitation on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
