Rita Marie Wysocki, age 88, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2024.
The gates of heaven opened as Rita waltzed to the tune of "Green Green Grass of Home" once again with her loving husband, Donald. She has missed him deeply since his passing in 2021.
Rita was born Oct. 28th, 1935, the daughter of the late Maymie Simcakoski and Felix Zielinski. With much sadness, Rita is the first of her seven siblings to pass.
On Aug. 27th, 1955, Rita married her loving husband, Donald. Living in Milwaukee for a short time after marriage, they then resided in the Stevens Point area.
Besides being a housewife and raising eight children of her own, Rita was a childcare provider for countless other families for many years. Rita was an active member of Saint Peters Parish and enjoyed many afternoons of polka dancing at various church picnics. Rita loved to bake and cook, and it was always a given that every holiday was spent enjoying her fabulous desserts and meals. We have to wonder how many thousands of pies she made throughout the years.
Rita will be forever remembered for her class and style, her love of all things diamond and sparkled, and most of all her love of shopping. We hope there is lots and lots of shopping in heaven for you, Rita.
Rita is survived by seven children, Richard (Pat) Wysocki, Louise Makuski, Lori (Dale) DeSmith, Raymond (Christy) Wysocki, Lois (Paul) Glodowski, Renee (Rob) Kieliszewski, and Michelle (John) Kowalski. She is further survived by eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two brothers and four sisters.
Rita is preceded in death by; her husband Donald; son, Randall; and her parents.
We can't send out enough thanks and appreciation to Mary and her staff at North Crest Assisted Living for all the care, love, and support they gave to our parents for the past 10 years. Having our parents share a room and making a new home for themselves under your care was a true blessing. Don and Rita gained another family and friendships that meant the world to them.
Also, thank you to Heartland Hospice for all the extra care and attention Rita received the past few months.
