He entered the service on April 9, 1968, in Milwaukee. Robert served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device 60, Combat Infantryman Badge, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm, Army Commendation Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster. Bob worked for Hartwig Manufacturing and PDM Bridge (now Veritas Steel) for 38 years. Bob retired in 2012.

Bob enjoyed spending his time with family and friends.  He and Sue could be found on the dance floor at the area's polka dances.  After retirement Bob joined the Plover VFW and the Polonia Polish Legion American Veterans and enjoyed serving and participating in their many functions.

Bob was very hard working, as evident in retirement Bob spent his time cutting, splitting and selling firewood. Bob loved the outdoors along with tinkering in his shed. Hunting and fishing was a favorite pastime of Bob's and the family finds peace that Bob passed doing what he loved.
