Ronald J. Karch, age 88, of Amherst Junction passed away peacefully Sunday, January 7, 2024 at the Portage County Health Care Center in Stevens Point, with his loving family by his side.
Ronald was born on February 25, 1935 on the family farm, in the Town of Sharon, to Edward and Evelyn (Firkus) Karch.
Ronald was united in marriage to the former Bernadetta Kizewski on September 26, 1959 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galloway.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1955 serving stateside and was honorably discharged in 1956.
Ronald was a self-employed ambitious man, working as a Milk Hauler for Borden Co., performing logging operations, doing Excavating work, trucking cucumbers for Bonduel Pickling Co. as well as farming and raising diary heifers. He was passionate about Logging and working with lumber.
Ronald loved being outdoors, nature, hunting, photography, bird watching, listening to the Brewers and above all else he loved his family dearly.
Ron was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society.
Mr. Karch is survived by his wife, Bernadetta; his children, Renee (Eugene) King of Stevens Point, Eileen (Thomas) Susterich of Rio Rancho, NM, Rosaline (Bill ) Richter of Watertown, Kevin (Jeanne) Karch of Custer, Chris (Ginger) Karch and Aaron (Sarah) Karch both of Stevens Point; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; siblings, Irene Olszewski, and Diane (Marvin) Milanowski.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandson, Benjamin Richter; brother, Edward Karch, Jr.,sister-in-law; Sandra Karch and brother-in-law, Edward Olszewski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 7375 Church St. Custer, WI 54423 on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 11:00AM with Rev. Mark Miller officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in the Parish Cemetery.
Family and friends are invited to a Visitation at the church on Thursday, from 9:00 until the time of the Mass.
