Roseann Theresa (Pezewski) Byczynski (Rosie) of Junction City, Wisconsin passed away on September 11, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She had been living with Alzheimer's Disease for several years and had recently suffered a stroke. She is now with God and the angels.
Roseann was born on September 19, 1938, in Portage County, Wisconsin to the late Alois and Mary (Gburek) Pezewski. She attended schools in Custer and Stevens Point, and later worked as a nurse's aide in the Children's Ward at St. Michael's Hospital. In 1962, Rosie met her future lifetime fishing partner, and love of her life, Victor A. Byczynski. The couple were married at St. Peter's Church on August 8, 1964. Shortly after they were married, they moved to Milwaukee.
In 1972, they realized their dream of owning a dairy farm, and acquired a farm in the town of Eau Pleine in Portage County Wisconsin. Roseann and her husband worked every day, side by side making "Vi-Ro Dairy Farm" a reality. During this time, they raised three children, Debbie, Joe and John. In 1999, Vic and Roseann retired from farming, and spent time traveling, gardening (especially flowers), baking, doing sudoku puzzles and sewing. Most of all, she enjoyed fishing with her husband, especially at their favorite spot, Carol Lake.
Roseann was also an active member of St. Michael's Parish in Junction City. She taught CCD for twenty years, instructing children on how to make their first Holy Communion. Additionally, she was very involved in her children's' 4-H clubs. She also became a Foster Grandmother for the Stevens Point Area School District, spending time at Kennedy Elementary in Junction City, where she was fondly known as "Grandma Rosie."
Roseann is survived by her husband Victor, daughter Debbie (Robert) Rojas of San Benito, Tx and their children Raeann and Nicholas; son Joe (Audra) Byczynski of Plover, WI and their children Matt (Kristine) , Travis, and Alex (Tori) Hansen; son John (Angie) Byczynski of Portage, MI and their son Jaxson; and a great-granddaughter, Autumn Byczynski; and sisters, Mary Bellinger and Sophie Kubisiak.
She was preceded in death by her parents Alois and Mary Pezewski, sisters Frances Modrewski, Elizabeth Mocaldlo, Veronica Kubowski, Esther Sankey, Ann Derefcinski; brothers Steve, Anton, Albert, Alois and Ben Pezewski.
Roseanns greatest joy was being with her family, and especially her grandchildren. We are all very blessed to call her wife, mother, and grandmother. Roseann will be sadly missed by her family but take comfort in knowing her pain and suffering is over and that she is with God and at peace, enjoying the reunion with her family in heaven.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking you to donate in Roseann's name to the Alzheimer's Association at act.alz.org. The family would like to thank Inclusa, Maple Ridge and Compassus Hospice for their loving care and support.
