Russell "Doug"  Beard

Of Stevens Point passed away unexpectedly Thursday afternoon March 16, 2023 at his home. Age 68 Doug was born August 5, 1954 in Stevens Point.

He was the son of the late Russell and Linda (Hansen) Beard. He attended local grade schools, graduating from SPASH in 1972.

His marriage to Debra Allen took place on March 8, 1980 at St. Bronislava Catholic Church. After their marriage the couple settled in Plover. His wife Debra survives.

Doug worked with his father for Russell Beard & Son Septic, and later for Neenah Papers retiring in 2015.

In his free time Doug was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed deer and turkey hunting, gardening and making maple syrup.  His passion was his apple trees, which his orchard grew to over 30 trees he planted himself. He also enjoyed antiques, and had a talent for refinishing old furniture.

Survivors include his wife Debbie of 43 years, his two sons: Daniel (Michelle) Beard of Stevens Point and Cody (Savhana) Beard of Ringle, WI; his three grandchildren Daniel, Adrianne and Yelayna.

Further survived by a sister-in-law and brother-in-law Sharon (Brian) Gulke of Custer, sister-in-law Susan Allen, and brother-in-law John Birrenkott. Two Nieces: Courtney and Caitlin and two nephews: Brandon and Jesse; also, close friends, Charlie and Warren, and a special best friend, his dog Chico.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents Russell and Linda Beard, his sister Patricia Birrenkott and in-laws Larry and Ramona Allen.
