Stella L. Lewandowski

Stella L. (Wise) Lewandowski of Town of Dewey, Mosinee passed into the arms of her heavenly father at home Friday February 12, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.

Stella was born August 11, 1943 in the Town of Guenther.  She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Clara (Anker) Wise.  Stella attended school in the Town of Guenther and graduated from Mosinee High School in 1961.  She then graduated from the State College of Beauty Culture and worked as a waitress at Club DuBay in Knowlton.

She married Thomas "Tom" Lewandowski on May 29 th , 1963 at St Casimir Catholic Church.  After their marriage the couple settled in the Town of Dewey where they raised a large brood of children on their dairy farm.

Stella held many jobs over the years including working at Figis, being a receptionist/bookkeeper for the Sisters of St Joseph Convent in Stevens Point until her retirement in 2014, as well as selling Avon for over 35 years with her sister Alice.  She also served as the Town of Dewey Treasurer for close to 22 years.

Stella was very devoted to her faith and was a member of St Casimir Catholic Church.  She belonged to the Council of Catholic Women in which she held several office positions, as well as teaching religious education in the parish for over 25 years.

Stella felt it was always important to give of herself to others.  Being a cancer survivor herself for over 20 years, she was a strong advocate for charitable events such as Relay for Life and Camp Hope.

She is survived by her loving husband Tom Sr., their children; Susan (Mark) Rogacheski, Linda (Dave) Johns, Tom (Mary) Lewandowski Jr., Paul (Cheryl) Lewandowski, John Lewandowski, Elizabeth "Betti" (Allen) Trzebiatowski,  Frances (Michael) Peplinski, Ann (Joseph) Cisewski, Jacob Lewandowski and dozens of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is further survived by her sisters Alice (Ben) Obremski, Wilma Fink, and Viola Cisewski and in-laws Judy Wise, Rose Marie Wise and Barbara and James Grezenski.

Stella was preceded in death by her son Patrick, her brothers Charles, Archie and LeRoy Wise and her sisters Leona McCarthy, Sarah Hulsart, and Cecelia (Marie) Iczkowski, her in-laws Virgil McCarthy, Richard Hulsart, Willard Iczkowski, Margie Wise, Rev. Robin Fink, Raymond Cisewski, John & Gertrude (Lewandowski) Dulak, Joseph & Grace (Lewandowski) Dulak, Stanley & Dorothy (Lewandowski) Napiwocki.  In Lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established at a later date, in the name of Patrick Lewandowski.

A Private Immediate Family only Mass of Christian Burial will be held. Family and friends may visit the Pisarski Community Funeral Home. 2911 Plover Road, Plover from 4:00pm to 7:00pm on Thursday February 18, 2021.  There will be a rosary prayed at 7:00pm Thursday to conclude the wake.  Mask will be required at the funeral home, and social distancing will be enforced.  If you are not comfortable attending or in ill health, online condolences may be sent by visiting www.pisarskifuneralhome.com
