Susan Gruba

Susan Lynn (Porter) Gruba formerly of Stevens Point passed away on the 19 ^th day of May, 2022 at her home in Monticello. MN with family.  Age 72, Susan was born January 1 ^st , 1950 in Stevens Point, WI. She was the first born of seven of the late Wendell and Violet (Carpenter) Porter.

Sue attended local Catholic grade schools along with her siblings , graduating from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1968. She married William D. Gruba on October 6 ^th , 1976.  After their marriage, the couple remained in Stevens Point and Sue worked at Kmart and raised their children. Her husband William preceded her in death on the 25 ^th day of February , 1996.

Susan was incredibly social and to her no one was a stranger. She had an uncanny memory for things others would forget. She loved spending time with her family and friends and taking care of others including her daughter's dogs. She loved to talk, text, or write messages to those she was close to and had the most generous of souls, even if she did not have a dollar of her own, she would borrow two to give to you.  She enjoyed baking and cooking, casinos, vacations, the Green Bay Packers, television, and movies, and getting new shoes. She truly was one in a million.

Survivors include her children; Chad (Jessica) Porter of Woodstock, GA., Sara (Krista) Davis of Mesa, AZ., Shae (Tori) Gruba of Monticello, MN and Tom (Valeria) Floberg of San Antonio, FL.  Her grandchildren; Victoria, Alexandra, and Elizabeth. Further survived by two sisters; Deborah Porter of Roseville, CA. and Sharon Porter of Stevens Point, and two brothers Thomas (Tammy) Porter of Stevens Point and Jody (Lisa) Porter of Plover, WI.

Susan was preceded in death by both of her parents, her husband Bill, her special friend Dave Falk,  sister Judy, brother Brian and two nephews Brandon Porter and Ryan Porter.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2022, at the Pisarski Funeral Home of Stevens Point.    Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time for services at the Pisarski Funeral Home at 703 Second St. in Stevens Point. Burial will take place at a later date.
