Ted J. Stoltz

September 1, 1943 — February 22, 2022

Stevens Point

Thaddeus (Ted) J. Stoltz, age 78, of Stevens Point passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, February 22, 2022.  Ted was born September 1, 1943 in Stevens Point, WI to Felix and Mary (Pionkowski) Stoltz.  He attended local schools and graduated from Pacelli High School in 1962.

His marriage to Bernie Zakroczymski (Zak) took place on May 13, 1967 at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Rudolph, WI.  Together they shared almost 55 years of marriage and raised three daughters, Stephanie, Stacy, and Sara.

Ted was an extremely hard worker.  He completed an apprenticeship and worked as a Journeyman electrician at M&S Electric, Stoltz Electric and Stora Enso, where he retired in 2003.  Ted was proud of being a part of the electrical crew who wired Sentry Insurance many years ago.

Ted was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish, hunt, and go mushroom and blackberry picking.  His biggest passion was gardening, and he took pride in growing his vegetable and flower plants from seed in his greenhouse.  Ted enjoyed canning much of what he grew in his garden but enjoyed sharing it with family and friends even more.

Ted loved his family and looked forward to the family vacations up north every summer.  Although Ted didn't fish as much as he would have liked to the past couple of years, he always made sure everyone had a working fishing pole to use. He especially enjoyed renting a pontoon boat for the grandchildren.  Ted was extremely proud of his grandchildren and would travel near and far to attend as many activities as he could. He had a strong exterior but had a heart of gold.  He was always there to help fix anything that his family or friends needed.  If you were looking for some type of gadget, tool, wood, nail etc. he was determined to find it in his huge shed.

Ted is survived by his loving wife, Bernie; daughters: Stephanie (Peter) Kujawa of Onalaska, Stacy (Brian) Klish of Stevens Point, and Sara (Lucas) Schmidt of Waupaca; grandchildren: Ryan and Emma Kujawa; Brenden and Benett Klish and Autumn Schmidt; brother: Frank Stoltz; sister: Theresa (Jim) Hintz; sister-in-law: Carole Stoltz, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Al and Mary Ann Nash, Donnie and Irene Smits, John and Karine Zakroczymski and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Felix and Mary Stoltz; brother, Tony Stoltz; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Marion and Helen Zakroczymski.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Ted will be held at 10:45 am on Friday, March 4, 2022, at St. Peter Catholic Church, 800 Fourth Avenue, Stevens Point.  Rev. Arul Joseph Visuvasam will officiate.  Visitation will be on Friday from 9:00 am until the time of service in the St. Faustina room at the church.  Pisarski Funeral Homes are honored to be serving the Stoltz family.  For online condolences, please visit www.pisarskifuneralhome.com .

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Ted's name at a later date.

Ted endured many health obstacles over the past 19 years but battled each one head on with strength and courage.  He was a fighter and an inspiration to many.  Ted's family would like to thank all the physicians, nurses, CNAs, etc. at the former Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital (8 th floor), Marshfield Clinic Oncology, Aspirus Stevens Point Hospital (ED/2 nd /5 th /ICU floors), Portage County Health Center (Hillside Meadow South Wing) and Heartland Hospice.  We are forever grateful for the care you all provided. There are too many to list individually.

We are sure, as Ted entered the gates of heaven, his buddy was there to greet him and asked, "What took you so long?"

If you would ask Ted how he is, as he rests in the arms of our Lord, he would say "finer than frog's hair".

Ted/Dad/Papa…we will hold you in our hearts until we can hold you again in heaven.
