Thomas Florian Lewandowski

May 6, 1958 — November 17, 2022

Stevens Point

Thomas "Tom" Florian Lewandowski, 64, of Stevens Point, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at Dimensions Living Center. He was born on May 6, 1958 to Stanley and Florence (Sopa) Lewandowski.

Tom, a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, graduated from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point in 1980 with double major Bachelor of Science degrees in Political Science and Communications. He managed The Village Apartments until his marriage to Linda Cantrell on June 18, 1988. They moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where they managed various apartment complexes until he changed careers and worked for Badger Association of the Blind where he assessed clients' needs and recommended programs, products, and other resources to enable them to live as independently as possible. He then became a Fiscal Budget Analyst for Milwaukee County until his retirement in 2013.

Tom, a musician at heart, and his good friends, Vic Ziolkowski and Jim Kurzitski, started a garage band in the early 70's. Their bands were Solitude and Tumbling Dice. When Jim moved on, they brought on Mike "Shock" Janowski and became Thee Obsession. They later added Lorenzo "Larry" Ripani and became Rockin' Daddies with other members throughout the years including Mike Griffith and Mike Griffin.

Tom enjoyed camping and held season tickets to American Player Theatre in Spring Green, a nod to his avid love of all things Frank Lloyd Wright. He loved music (#1 The Beatles fan), baseball, The Packers, the tv show M*A*S*H (just try to beat him at M*A*S*H trivia), in addition to being a 90FM Trivia player since its inception (Copper Nickle, Ma's Children, and Operation Foole).

He is survived by his wife, her daughter and granddaughter, Hannah and Haley Cantrell, Milwaukee, WI, his mother, Florence, sister, Susan (Michael) Bongard, Stevens Point, brother James "Jim" Lewandowski, Rochester, MN, and niece, Aleah Lewandowski, Le Sueur, MN.

Tom's family would like to thank Bonnie at The Pioneer Place, all the staff at The Bay at Colonial Manor, Wausau, and the staff at Dimensions Living Center, Stevens Point; especially Rusty, Jessica, Mercy, Angel, and Mary for their compassionate care of Tom and making a tough situation easier. Thank you to the St. Croix Hospice for your assistance during the last week. A HUGE thank you to Judy McLaughlin and family for invaluable love, help and support.
