Orlikowski, Thomas "Tom" "Moon" Allen, Age 67 of Stevens Point passed away unexpectedly with his family by his side Monday morning, February 13.
Tom Orlikowski was born August 29, 1955, in Stevens Point. He was the son of the late Myron Orlikowski and Jeannette Orlikowski nee Wysocki. He grew up in Ellis, WI with his sister and six brothers. He graduated from SPASH in 1973.
Tom was met with many health challenges early in life. Being diagnosed with Lupus at a young age, he underwent his first kidney transplant 50 years ago which was donated by his father. He needed a second kidney transplant in 1989, donated by his brother Kurt.
He later survived an aortic aneurysm and valve replacement and numerous other ailments. Despite all of these things, he was never one to feel sorry for himself and he persevered through life with unwavering optimism. He lived his life to the fullest and always attributed his attitude and longevity to his supportive family and friends. He began working at Worzalla Publishing Company as a machine operator in 1974 where he worked full time for 46 years, retiring in 2020.
While working at Worzalla Publishing, he met the love of his life, Patricia Hoffman, and they married in 1980. They had two children, daughter Kendra (Chad) Gagas of Ellis and son Brandon (Valerie) of Plover, two grandchildren Mason and Harrison, and two step-grandchildren, Emily and Connor. He loved being a husband, dad, grandpa and brother.
Tom was an avid outdoorsman and loved to spend time in the woods. He enjoyed bowhunting turkey and deer and sharing his love of nature with his kids and grandkids. When not hunting, he was an official measurer for Pope & Young and Buck & Bear club. He was also a lifelong member of Blackhawk Archers.
He also enjoyed golfing with his friends and they met weekly when the weather was nice. Because of his love of nature, he adopted the road he lived on and kept it clean. He loved going for long walks and bike rides. He could often be found bumming around in his black Toyota truck visiting friends and listening to oldies and country music.
He is survived by his loving wife, children and grandchildren, his sister Donna Orlikowski of Milwaukee, WI, six brothers; Michael (Jacque) of Schofield, David (Annette) of Riverton, Il., Dale of Ellis, Kurt (Kathy) of Plover and Karl (Marcia) of Custer and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles and his best friend Randy Maslowski and many other good friends.
