Troy D. Raflik

March 11, 1967 — February 20, 2022

Wisconsin Rapids

Troy David Raflik, age 54, Wisc. Rapids, passed away Sunday, February 20, 2022 surrounded by family. Born March 11, 1967, Troy was the 5 th of 6 children of Dan and Marilyn (Raasch) Raflik of Stevens Point. He grew up on the family farm at Route 3, Town of Linwood. After graduating from SPASH in 1985, Troy went to work siding homes with his Dad and brother.

At a young age he started his own business, Southtown Supply Siding & Windows and earned the reputation of a highly respected, hard-working, talented, and skilled carpenter. Troy married Denise Kolodziej in 1991, together they raised three children, then later divorced in 2019.

Troy's three children, Jake, Jenelle, and Kayla were the pride and joy of his life. Troy took his God-given responsibilities as a Dad seriously. In addition to providing for them, Troy encouraged, motivated, and supported his kids in all sports. He went above and beyond to help them in their passion for rodeo, including "hauling them all over the country" to compete in state and national events. Troy was an enthusiastic outdoorsman, believing that time spent there "cleansed the soul".

Troy was self-reliant, building upon what he learned as a kid with his family. Troy's true passions were bow-hunting, coon hunting with the dogs, running a trap line, gardening, raising Texas Longhorns along with numerous other farm animals, and fishing for muskie, walleye, bass, and pan fish. Troy also enjoyed the process of perfecting various smoked & grilled meats, delicious pizzas, and everyone's favorite homemade wine. He fulfilled his goal that his kids also become self-sufficient and learn to live with what the land has to offer. But deep down, he would be the first to tell you that his real aim in all of this was first and foremost, to spend precious time with those he loved best.

Troy was grateful for his upbringing and loved his parents deeply. No matter how busy he was, when the phone rang and he saw it was his Mom on the other end, he would put down whatever he was doing to talk to her for however long she wanted. Troy had great respect for his Dad, put up with his four sisters and his "co-conspirator" older brother Tim. Through the years the two of them shared many adventures, their careers, a little bit of trouble, a few fights, and a whole lot of good times, usually washed down with drinks all while listening to old county and southern rock music. Troy also took joy in time spent with all his good friends.

Always genuine, Troy was a loving son, dependable brother, dedicated father, true friend, and all-around good guy with nerves of steel, and a heart of pure gold. Our hearts are broken with his too-soon departure from this world. Troy put his all into everything and didn't waste time on unimportant matters. He taught us all how to be just by watching him, with his strong convictions, yet gentle and laid-back nature.

Troy is survived by his three children: son Jake Raflik, Cedar Park, TX; daughters Jenelle (Casey Berends) Raflik, Wisc. Rapids; Kayla (Paxton Soik) Raflik, Plover; his mother Marilyn Raflik, Stevens Point; brother Tim Raflik, Stevens Point; sisters Lindie (Mark) Landin, Stevens Point; Darla (Jack) Sikora, Cornell; Jenni (Randy) Niewiadomski, Rosholt; and Leanne (Tony) Oftedahl, Pemberton, MN; He is also survived by his godsons: Tyler (Danielle) Mancl, Cade Sikora, Tate Oftedahl, and Bo Niewiadomski as well as other nephews and nieces, Pamela (Lee) Petz, Travis (Allison) Mancl, Reid Landin, Colter, Quinn, and Saige Sikora, Luke Froeba, Shaina and Blade Niewiadomski, Chance and Stranton Oftedahl. He was preceded in death by his Dad, Daniel Raflik.
