Viola K. Rutta

Viola "Vi" K. Rutta of Stevens Point passed away Sunday morning, October 8, 2023 at Aspirus Stevens Point with her loving daughter by her side.

Vi was born March 5, 1932 in the Town of Green Valley in Marathon County. She was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Armin (Braunsky) Poeschel.

Vi had married the love of her life Norbert "Nubbs" Rutta on July 19, 1982. They were inseparable, always going places together, laughing and having fun. They enjoyed having their grandkids over and teaching them dice games, no matter the age.

Vi lived her life to the fullest, enjoying every day! She worked as a bartender for many years at various taverns in the Stevens Point area. She always enjoyed talking to her regular customers and to those that may be passing through.  She loved to keep her yard kept up and nice, took pride in her vehicle and making sure it was always clean and of course loved to watch those Packers.

Survivors include her daughter Nancy (John) Cousineau of Tomah and son Jerry Riske of Stevens Point. Her four grandchildren: Kathy Jo (Lucas) Wenzel of Custer, Mike (Alicia) Gosh of Florida, Dani (Dusty) Trebe of Amherst, and Anthony-TC (Ashley) Maves of Amherst. She also has numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Vi was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Sylvester and Richard.

As requested by Vi, a private family service will be held at a later date.
